Why HTTPS is Better Than HTTP?
Have you ever noticed the link address of any website? Well, if you have, then you must be aware of the terms HTTP and HTTPS. The two words differentiate the two types of website and it is said that HTTPS is better than HTTP. There are a lot of reasons for which we could say that HTTPS is better than HTTP. The later has the same properties as the former one; it’s just that it lacks encryption. SSL is used by HTTPS in order to encrypt normal HTTP requests. As we mentioned earlier, the type of website could be differentiated with the link address. Let us now look at more reasons that prove that HTTPS is better than the HTTP.
Reasons for which HTTPS is better
- The first and foremost reason could be found in the name or the full form of the two terms. HTTP means Hypertext Transfer Protocol and in case of HTTPS, “secure” is added.
- In the section above, we discussed that HTTP lacks encryption and this is the reason that the information that is there is not safe. This is the second reason for which HTTPS is preferred over HTTP.
- Another good thing about HTTPS is that it could be verified by any computer, while the same is not the case with HTTP. Now, one could clearly imagine how easy it would be for an attacker to know the details from the site you are visiting. This is by far the most important reason for which HTTPS is preferred over HTTP.
All the points that are mentioned above are very crucial and if you want to know about HTTP and HTTPS, then you could not skip any one of these. After reading the points you will get the exact idea, as to why one should use HTTPS.
